A proud ATC legacy

Communications
A long history in the ATC market and a mission to engineer the best possible solutions creates equipment that ensures lives are in safe hands

The EPOS ATC heritage goes back decades. The company has served the global Air Traffic Control market since the launch of the HME 45 headset in the early 1980s.

Under the Sennheiser brand, the company delivered customised solutions and systems that combined headsets, push-to-talk (PTT) units, cables, and connectors tailored to our customers’ needs. Today, rebranded as EPOS, it proudly continues this tradition.

Not just a luxury

Certain professionals work in high-pressure, often dangerous environments. Their job requires extreme focus and dedication. They take great pride in their work because it’s hard...and it matters. To these professionals, clear audio isn’t just a nice to have. It is a necessity.

The critical communications industry encompasses jobs like emergency responders, C3 military applications, International Space Station operations, and many others. In these jobs, bad audio can be a matter of life and death. If that sounds familiar, it is because air traffic controllers are exactly that type of professionals. Their job is to provide clear, concise communication in stressful situations with lives at stake.

EPOS’ job, on the other hand, is to build premium audio solutions that help these professionals perform at their very best.

An ATC legacy

EPOS is known as a premium brand of ATC headset systems with a focus on the safety of operations and delivering value to the customer. The company’s products have been approved on all Voice Communications and Control Systems (VCCS) and ATC backup radio OEMs. EPOS headsets are tuned to human voice transmission and reception, allowing these systems to operate at maximum performance levels. All its ATC headset systems are built on three technology pillars.

The first is unmatched audio. EPOS headsets are designed to deliver the highest audio quality in both voice transmission and reception, powered by EPOS Voice technology. They are carefully engineered and tuned to reduce call back / read back situations – which are significant safety factors – in some cases by up to 60%.

Second is extreme durability. EPOS headset systems are designed to be exceptionally robust. They can withstand the rigors of air traffic control and critical communications environments. This makes them highly reliable in everyday use, delivering long life and value for money.

Third is operator safety and comfort. The company designs each headset system with ATCO’s comfort and safety in mind. The patented EPOS ActiveGard technology protects the users’ hearing from acoustic noise bursts while still allowing continuous audio reception and voice transmission.

Innovation to meet customer needs

EPOS is constantly updating and upgrading its products to meet the critical communications demands of its customers. The company understands that its customers’ needs are always evolving.

“The people at the core of this system are highly trained professionals on duty in Airport Towers and Air Traffic Control Centers, making flight safety something that most of us almost take for granted”

According to EPOS it is the only manufacturer that regularly delivers solutions that are tailored and customized to specific customer applications. It provides custom solutions in certain cases delivering specialty one-off headsets to clients in the form of its COMMAND Line.

Always in control

The international ATC network is one of the most reliable, successful, and safest organizations in the world. The people at the core of this system are highly trained professionals on duty in Airport Towers and Air Traffic Control Centers, making flight safety something that most of us almost take for granted.

EPOS supports the safe performance of these professionals with the latest communication technology. Its line of COMMAND headsets is lighter than ever and offers a more comfortable fit even during long hours of operation.

With high-quality, noise-canceling microphones that focus on the nuances of the human voice and filter out unwanted background noise, enabling ATC professionals to perform to the best of their abilities every time.

Setting a new standard

COMMAND 330 AT/C3 AG is the latest member of the COMMAND family. A single-sided, in-ear passive attenuation headset for ATC and C3 operators, it is the result of engineering that incorporates all of the best qualities of EPOS ATC headsets and is a culmination of several decades of experience in this industry.

The headset features a modern, slick, and robust design with a brand-new in-earbud transducer and a noise-canceling microphone. The result says EPOS is audio quality that sets new industry standards.

The COMMAND 330 ATC/C3 AG is extremely lightweight and comes with a soft pliable ear hook and exchangeable silicon tips in different sizes. This guarantees that operators can get a secure, comfortable fit, so the headset can be worn all day without fatigue.

As with all EPOS ATC headsets, the COMMAND 330 ATC/C3 AG can be pre-configured to work seamlessly with any EPOS push-to-talk units.

EPOS understands how critical it is for ATC operators to have a headset they can 100% count on in the most stressful, high-intensity moments. It develops solutions that are robust, reliable, and deliver exceptional audio clarity for Critical Communications.
