Spain’s ANSP ENAIRE has received the EFQM Seal, an international recognition of excellence in management.
ENAIRE was awarded with a score of 600 out of 700. EFQM is a management model that promotes the transformation of organizations and is evaluated by the Club for Excellence in Management.
The award, which was presented at an event held this week at Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. Speaking at the event, José Antonio Santano, Secretary of State for Transport and Sustainable Mobility and president of ENAIRE said, “This recognition highlights ENAIRE’s commitment to safety, efficiency, innovation and sustainability, as well as its firm commitment to its stakeholders.
“This recognition should be an important and very timely encouragement for the more than 4,000 people who make up the ENAIRE team, and I say it is very timely because I am aware that this year, and particularly in the months of July and August, a lot of good work has been done to help ensure that air traffic in Spain continues to have exemplary standards of quality, efficiency, safety and sustainability,” explained Santano.
In the first seven months of the year ENAIRE managed more than 1.3 million flights, 8.5% more than in the same period of the record year 2023 and the highest traffic in history. In addition, this year the maximum number of flights managed in a single day in 2023 has been exceeded on 45 occasions.
The all-time record was set on August 10 with 7,886 flights, which is 435 more than the busiest day in 2023. “These figures reflect the enormous effort made and allow us to better appreciate the reason that brings us together today,” added Santano.
For his part, ENAIRE 's general manager, Enrique Maurer, stressed that "the high evaluation received is the result of the work of all ENAIRE professionals and the teamwork with our stakeholders, as well as the fact that more than 100 Enaire professionals have participated in this new evaluation of the EFQM Model during six months of work."
The level awarded recognises ENAIRE's solid strategic approach to addressing the challenges of the sector, as reflected in its strategic plan and vision. It also highlights the organisation’s commitment to the alliances in which it participates is highlighted as a driving force to become a global air navigation operator, citing for example it’s subsidiary CRIDA for research, development and innovation and the company Startical – satellite constellation for air navigation.
