Reception held to mark 20 years in region
Frequentis Australasia celebrated its 20 year anniversary with an event at the Austrian embassy in Canberra

Frequentis Australasia has celebrated its 20 year anniversary with a special reception held at the Austrian Embassy in Canberra.

The even, which was held on November 27, 2024 was hosted by Austrian Ambassador Elisabeth Koegler and brought together customer executives, partners, and political leaders.

The event marked Frequentis Australasia’s achievements and contributions to safety over the past two decades. The evening also served as an opportunity to emphasise the company’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and safety-critical infrastructure in the Australasian region.

“We are proud to push boundaries through innovative, long-term partnerships with our customers,” said Martin Rampl, managing director of Frequentis Australasia. “Our commitment to delivering world-class, safety-critical solutions tailored to the region’s unique needs and being close to our customers has made Frequentis a cornerstone of Australia’s critical infrastructure.

“As we celebrate 20 years of success, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our employees, partners, and customers. Your trust and collaboration have been instrumental in achieving this milestone. Together, we look forward to another 20 years of delivering safety and innovation.”

Although Frequentis Australasia was founded in 2004, Frequentis secured its first major Australian contract in 2003 - a nationwide VHF system upgrade for Airservices Australia. This system, which still manages every ATC radio call across Australian airspace today, is a testament to Frequentis' enduring commitment to durability and innovation.

Building on this success, Frequentis Australasia quickly became integral to Australia's critical infrastructure, supporting industries such as air traffic management (ATM), public safety, defence, maritime, and public transport. Today, its systems support the operations of major organisations, including Airservices Australia, the Royal Australian Air Force, Sydney Trains, Marine Rescue New South Wales, and Airways New Zealand.

From securing its first contract to becoming a leading critical infrastructure supplier in Australia, New Zealand, and the wider region, Frequentis has grown both locally and globally. The company has created and secured over 150 highly skilled engineering jobs in Australia with production facilities and local supply chains in Brisbane and Melbourne.

Frequentis Australasia continues to invest in technologies and projects, such as supporting Australia’s future air traffic management needs through the Airservices Australia Digital Aerodrome Services and the Flight Information Management System, a world-leading uncrewed aircraft traffic management system that will manage millions of uncrewed aircraft flights in Australia’s busy airspace.
