Rohde & Schwarz is to showcase its R&S EVSD1000 VHF/UHF navigation drone analyzer at the The IFATSEA Euro Conference 2025 later this month.

As a trusted partner in air navigation testing, Rohde & Schwarz offers a comprehensive portfolio of navigation analyzers, designed to cater to the needs of ground and flight inspections, covering ILS, VOR, DME/TACAN and GBAS systems at airports, fully aligned with the standards outlined in ICAO Doc. 8071.

Since 2018, ICAO Doc. 8071 regulation suggests that unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) should be assessed to determine their capability to conduct air-navigation (Air-Nav) aids inspection in a cost-effective manner. In recognizing the growing demand for UAV-based air navigation testing, Rohde & Schwarz developed the R&S EVSD1000, an UAV optimized receiver for performing ILS, GBAS and VOR measurements with lab instrument precision at airports.

The R&S EVSD1000 also features an air-to-ground datalink (wifi), real-time recording and gapless measurements with increased location accuracy. Since its launch in 2023, customers successfully integrated R&S EVSD1000 in their inspection systems.

At the conference Semahat Korkmazer, product manager for avionics and navigation analyzers at Rohde & Schwarz, will speak about UAV-based ground and flight Inspection using R&S  EVSD1000 on the opening day.

The International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations (IFATSEA) Conference Europe will be held from April 24 to April 26 in Zurich, Switzerland and gathers aviation safety experts, air traffic engineers, and technical specialists from across Europe to discuss advancements in European Regional Meetings (ERM), with a focus on the evolution of air traffic safety and technological innovation.

Rohde & Schwarz offers products for testing radar, electronic warfare, satellite, navigation, guidance, military radiocommunications and radio monitoring systems in all relevant frequency bands.
