Belgium-based drone traffic management company Unifly has acquired Italian drone consultancy firm EuroUSC Italia.
EuroUSC Italia was established in 2014 as a joint venture between Deep Blue and Filippo Tomasello. The company specializes in drone regulation and safety, providing consultancy and training services focused on risk assessment, certification, and regulatory compliance.
The Rome-based company will maintain its operational structure and headquarters in Italy following the acquisition. The move represents a foreign investment that strengthens Italy's position in the drone sector, said Unifly.
EuroUSC Italia plans to develop new services for the drone industry while taking a broader approach to Unmanned Aircraft Systems technologies. The company will focus on pre-operational services and strategic consultancy, while Unifly said it will contribute technological solutions and Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) expertise.
"Our vision is to enable autonomous drones and air taxis to safely coexist in the airspace," said Marco Ducci, CEO of EuroUSC Italia. "Joining Unifly allows us to scale our impact while staying true to our values of impartiality and trust."
Unifly's technology enables drone operators, Air Navigation Service Providers, enterprises, and critical infrastructure operators to integrate drones safely into shared airspace. The company's UTM platform enhances situational awareness and helps prevent potential collisions.
"This is a strategic partnership built on complementary strengths," said Andres Van Swalm, CEO of Unifly. "EuroUSC Italia's regulatory and safety expertise extends our offering with Pre-Operational Support Services and positions us to enable and accelerate a growing drone ecosystem."
